Hi, I am Pawan.
I grew up in Visakhapatnam (Vizag), a coastal city where the Bay of Bengal meets green hills. My mother was a zoology professor and my father a geophysicist, and together they taught me that curiosity is a way of life. That spirit of curiosity has carried me through a career at the intersection of technology, security, and storytelling.
Today I work as a Senior Product Manager at Microsoft, focusing on Azure confidential computing and security offerings. Before that I spent years leading mobile payments and security architecture at a bank, and later worked at startups focused on confidential computing. Along the way I have come to believe that the real job is to ship things people can trust.
This site grew out of my desire to explore ideas and share reflections. I often have long conversations with friends and family that stay with me, and I wanted a space to write them down. Here you will find my thoughts on technology and security such as confidential computing, cloud, and privacy by design. I also write about responsible AI including governance, safety, and societal impact, as well as music, philosophy, and the ways older ideas can help with new problems.
I now live in Garner, North Carolina with my wife and two children, including a newborn who keeps us wonderfully busy. Outside of work I spend time exploring meditation, diving into history, or in the kitchen cooking an Andhra mess style meal or one of my late mother’s recipes.
This blog is my way of asking questions out loud, sharing what I have learned, and starting conversations that matter. If you are working on secure cloud, AI, or payments, or if you simply enjoy trading notes on food, music, or books, I would be happy to connect.
